Every katana is made at the forge and exported from China into your country.
Prices
Thai baht (THB)
Never including import duties or taxes, which you pay on delivery.
Adults only, and your local law applies. Our katanas are sharp collector's pieces made to your configuration. You must be 18 or over (or older where your law requires it), and you must check that you may import, own and keep a katana where you live before you order. You confirm both in the configurator before adding a katana to your cart. See where we deliver.
Article 1
Scope and acceptance
These Terms of Sale (the "Terms") apply to every order placed on the KTN online store at ktn-2949.myshopify.com and any domain that points to it (the "Store"). They form the contract between you, the buyer, and the seller named in Article 2.
By placing an order you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms, our Shipping Policy, our Returns and Refunds Policy, our Disclaimer and our Privacy Policy. The version that applies to your order is the one published on the day you place it. Please save or print a copy for your records.
The Store is intended for consumers buying for their own private use. If you buy for a business, contact us first: some consumer provisions in these Terms will not apply to you and specific terms may be agreed.
Nothing in these Terms removes the rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country where you live.
Article 2
The seller
The Store is operated by:
- Legal entity: [TO CONFIRM: legal entity name] ([TO CONFIRM: legal form (for example company limited)])
- Trading name: KTN
- Registered address: [TO CONFIRM: registered address (Shopify currently shows: Rakez Business Center, Bangkok 10150, Thailand)]
- Registration number: [TO CONFIRM: company registration number]
- Tax identification: [TO CONFIRM: tax or VAT identification number]
- Email: [TO CONFIRM: customer service email (Shopify currently shows contact@vinylacy.com)]
- Phone: [TO CONFIRM: customer service phone number]
Your katana is made by our production partner, a forge in China, and shipped directly from there. The forge is not the seller. Exporter named on the Chinese export declaration: [TO CONFIRM: exporter of record in China (the company named on the Chinese export declaration)].
In these Terms, "KTN", "we", "us" and "our" refer to this seller. Further details are in our Legal Notice.
Article 3
Who can order
You may only order from the Store if all of the following are true:
- You are at least 18 years old, or older where the law of your country, state or region sets a higher minimum age for buying or owning a bladed item (for example 19 in Alabama, United States).
- You are legally allowed to buy, import, own and keep a sharp katana at the delivery address, and you are not subject to a court order, a weapons ban or any other restriction that prevents you from doing so.
- You are ordering for yourself or as a gift for another adult who meets the same conditions. You may not order for, or deliver to, a minor.
- The delivery country is one we deliver to, as shown on our Shipping page.
Before you can add a katana to your cart, the configurator asks you to tick a box. By ticking it, you certify that you are 18 or over, or older where the law of your country sets a higher minimum age, that buying and owning a katana is legal where you live, and that you accept our Terms of Sale and our Disclaimer. A katana cannot be added to the cart without it.
In Germany, the law requires the seller to verify age for mail order (section 34 of the Weapons Act): the parcel is handed only to you, the named adult, and the carrier may ask for ID.
We may also ask you for proof of age and identity where we have a doubt, and for any permit or authorisation required in your country, before we start production or before we ship. If you do not provide it, or if we have reasonable grounds to believe that the conditions above are not met, we may cancel the order and refund what you paid.
We may refuse or cancel any order that appears to be fraudulent, that would break the law of China, as the country of export, or of the destination country, or that gives us reasonable concern about the intended use of the product.
Article 4
Our products
KTN sells katanas and related items that you configure on the Store, part by part. Unless the product page says otherwise:
- Made to order. Each katana is produced for you according to the configuration you choose. It is not taken from existing stock.
- Sharp blade. Our katanas are supplied with a sharpened edge and point. We do not currently offer an unsharpened version.
- Collector's object. Our katanas are sold as decorative and collector's objects. They are not sold as weapons and must never be used as one. Please read our Disclaimer before ordering.
- Cutting practice. [TO CONFIRM: whether any model is suitable for cutting practice].
We describe each product, its parts and its materials as accurately as we can. Photographs, 3D renders and the configurator preview are there to help you choose. Finishes, grain, colours and hand finished details can vary slightly from one piece to another and from what you see on screen; such small variations are part of the nature of the product and are not a defect.
Article 5
Placing an order
To order, you configure your katana, tick the box that confirms your age and the legality of your purchase and accepts these Terms and our Disclaimer, add it to your cart, enter your delivery and billing details, choose a payment method and confirm the order. Before you confirm, you can review every element of your order, including the configuration, the price, the delivery cost and the delivery country, and correct any input error.
Clicking the final order button creates an obligation to pay. We then send you an email that acknowledges your order. The contract is formed when we send that order confirmation, subject to the conditions described in Article 3 (your age confirmation and any import permit required in your country).
If a product cannot be made as configured, or if a price shown on the Store contains an obvious error, we will contact you before production. You can then accept the corrected order or cancel it with a full refund.
Article 6
Prices, duties and taxes
Prices are shown in Thai baht (THB). If the Store displays an amount in another currency, it is an estimate; the amount charged is the one shown at the final step of checkout, and your bank or card issuer may apply its own conversion rate and fees.
The price of each item and the delivery cost are shown before you confirm your order. [TO CONFIRM: whether displayed prices include any VAT or sales tax].
Our prices never include import duties, tariffs, import VAT, GST or sales tax, or customs clearance and brokerage fees. We ship every order duties unpaid (DAP), to every country. You, as the importer, pay any such charge due under the rules of your country, to the carrier or to the customs authority, usually on delivery. We do not collect them at checkout and we do not pay them for you. Indicative rates by country are given on our Shipping page. They are set by the authorities, not by us, and they change.
If you refuse to pay these charges and the parcel is returned to us or destroyed, Article 14 applies: the return shipping and the charges are not refunded.
Article 7
Payment
You can pay with the payment methods shown at checkout. [TO CONFIRM: accepted payment methods (the footer currently shows PayPal)].
[TO CONFIRM: when payment is taken (full payment at order, or deposit)]. Payments are processed by our payment providers over a secure connection; we do not receive or store your full card details.
We may carry out fraud and identity checks. Production starts only once payment has been received and any check required for your country has been completed.
Article 8
Production and delivery
Production time: [TO CONFIRM: production time for a made to order katana]. Transit time: [TO CONFIRM: transit time by destination]. Any time we give is an estimate. If we expect a significant delay, we tell you and offer you the choice between waiting and cancelling with a full refund.
We deliver only to the countries listed as delivered on our Shipping page, and only to a private residential address or another address we accept. For safety reasons we do not deliver to schools, nurseries, childcare centres, hospitals, places of worship, public or government buildings, or any address we reasonably consider unsuitable. If you give such an address, we will contact you to arrange delivery elsewhere.
An adult must receive the parcel, and the carrier may ask for a signature. In Germany, the law requires the seller to verify age for mail order (section 34 of the Weapons Act): the parcel is handed only to you, the named adult, and the carrier may ask for ID. The risk of loss or damage passes to you when you, or a person you have named, take physical possession of the parcel. Full delivery conditions are in our Shipping Policy.
Article 9
Where we deliver
The law on katanas is very different from one country to another. Based on our review of 41 countries, we deliver to some countries freely, to some only when a condition is met (such as an import permit you obtain beforehand), and we do not deliver to others. Choose your country below to see the result.
Your delivery country
Choose your country
Select a delivery country to see whether we deliver there and what you need to do.
Full rules for this countryDelivered: Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, Sweden, Thailand.
Delivered with conditions: Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, United States.
Not delivered: every other country, including Egypt, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Portugal, Qatar, Singapore, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom.
Country information is provided for guidance only and is not legal advice. Laws change and can differ by region or city: check the law that applies to you before ordering. The full table, with the key rule, what you must do and official sources for each of the 41 countries we reviewed, is on our Shipping page.
Article 10
Right of withdrawal
If you live in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, consumer law gives you, in principle, a right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason. Similar rights may exist in other countries.
Exception for goods made to your specifications. This right does not apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised (Article 16(c) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU; regulation 28(1)(b) of the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). Because each KTN katana is produced to the configuration you choose, this exception may apply to your order. Whether it applies depends on the facts of each order, and we will not rely on it where the law does not allow it. [TO CONFIRM: lawyer review of the made to order exception for configured katanas]
Where the right of withdrawal does apply, the conditions, the deadlines and the way to exercise it are set out in our Returns and Refunds Policy, which includes a model withdrawal form.
You can also cancel an order free of charge [TO CONFIRM: until when an order can be cancelled (for example before production starts)].
Article 11
Conformity and warranty
We must deliver a product that matches its description and your configuration and that is free from defects. If you are a consumer, you keep every legal guarantee given by the mandatory law of your country of residence, for example the legal guarantee of conformity of two years in the European Union, and the remedies of repair, replacement, price reduction or refund that it provides.
Commercial warranty: [TO CONFIRM: commercial warranty length and scope]. Any commercial warranty is given in addition to, and never instead of, your legal rights.
The following are not defects: damage caused by misuse, impacts, cutting tests, drops, attempts to sharpen, polish or disassemble the blade or the fittings, rust or stains caused by a lack of care, normal wear, and the small natural variations described in Article 4.
To report a problem, contact us with your order number, a description and clear photographs. The procedure is described in our Returns and Refunds Policy.
Article 12
Damage in transit
Please inspect the parcel when it arrives. If the box is visibly damaged, note it with the carrier when you can, take photographs, and contact us [TO CONFIRM: deadline to report transport damage]. Do not discard the packaging until the matter is settled. Do not use or try to repair a damaged item. We will arrange a repair, a replacement or a refund as provided in our Returns and Refunds Policy.
Article 13
Responsible use and your obligations
By ordering you agree that:
- you will keep the katana in a safe place, out of the reach of children and of anyone who should not handle it;
- you will never carry it in a public place without a lawful reason, and you will transport it covered, in its case or bag, and only when needed;
- you will never use it, or threaten to use it, against a person or an animal, or to damage property;
- you are solely responsible for complying with the law that applies to you on buying, importing, owning, keeping, transporting and displaying a katana, including any rule specific to your region or city;
- the information you give us, including your age, identity and any permit, is true.
Safety and care guidance is in our Disclaimer.
Article 14
Customs checks, refusals and seizures
As the importer, you are responsible for any formality required in your country, such as an import permit. We will not knowingly ship to a country where we know a permit is required unless you have sent us a copy of it.
If customs or another authority holds, returns or seizes a parcel:
- because of an error on our part (for example a wrong declaration, or a shipment to a country we list as not delivered), we will refund the full price including delivery, or reship at our cost where that is possible;
- because a permit you were required to obtain was missing or invalid, because information you gave was false, or because you refused to pay duties, taxes or fees, we are not liable for the loss of the item. If the parcel is returned to us, we refund the price of the item less the original delivery cost, the return cost and any charge we had to pay, as far as the law of your country allows.
Country information we publish is provided for guidance and is not legal advice. It does not replace your own check with the authorities of your country.
Article 15
Limitation of liability
We are liable for the proper performance of the contract and for damage that is a foreseeable consequence of our breach of these Terms or of our negligence.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for: losses that were not foreseeable; indirect or consequential losses such as loss of profit or opportunity; or any damage, injury or loss arising from misuse of the product, from failure to follow our safety guidance, from a breach of the law by the buyer or by a third party in possession of the product, or from the buyer's failure to comply with Article 13. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for an order is limited to the price paid for that order.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for defective products under applicable product liability law, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
Article 16
Intellectual property
The Store, its content, the configurator, the 3D models, photographs, texts, logos and the KTN name and marks belong to us or to our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce or reuse them without our written permission. Designing a configuration on the Store does not give you any intellectual property right in the parts, patterns or designs offered.
Article 17
Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, epidemics, war, strikes, carrier failures, changes in law, export or import restrictions, or decisions of public authorities. We will tell you as soon as possible and do what we reasonably can to limit the effects. If the delay is long, you may cancel the order and receive a refund of any amount paid for products not yet delivered.
Article 18
Personal data
We process your personal data to handle your order, to carry out the age and permit checks described in these Terms, to arrange delivery and customs clearance, and to meet our legal obligations. Details, including your rights, are in our Privacy Policy.
Article 19
Complaints and disputes
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at [TO CONFIRM: customer service email (Shopify currently shows contact@vinylacy.com)] or through our contact form. We will acknowledge it and try to resolve it quickly and fairly.
If you live in the European Union and we cannot resolve the matter, you can ask for free help from the European Consumer Centre of your country (ECC-Net). In other countries, a national consumer protection body may be able to help. The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025 and is no longer available.
Article 20
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by [TO CONFIRM: governing law (the law of the country where the seller is registered)]. Disputes are submitted to [TO CONFIRM: competent courts].
If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection given by the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence where the law allows it. [TO CONFIRM: lawyer review of governing law and jurisdiction for consumers in each delivered country]
Article 21
Language, changes and general provisions
The contract is concluded in English. Any translation is provided for convenience; if there is a difference, the English version prevails, unless the law of your country provides otherwise.
We may update these Terms, for example to follow a change in the law or in our delivery countries. The version in force on the day of your order applies to that order. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
If a provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, the other provisions remain in force. If we do not enforce a right at a given time, we do not waive it.
